Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was brilliant with the bat and was sensational on the field in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Despite his heroics, he could not lead his side to victory in one of the critical games of the season.

The loss against Kolkata meant Royal Challengers would need to win at least six games in their final seven matches to stand a chance for qualification.

They have so far won just two games this campaign and are unable to find any momentum going into the second half.

Having lost the toss, Bangalore were asked to bat first. But the openers had struggled to make quick runs, and KKR were back in the game with three quick wickets. Virat Kohli single-handedly took the team’s score to 175 in the first innings.

He scored 68 runs off just 44 balls. His innings featured three sixes and five fours. But Kolkata were always on top since the start of their chase. Rain showers abrupted the game which ensured KKR were always trying to be much above than DLS par score.

But Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled the game well after ten overs. They have not leaked many runs, and Lynn had struggled during his unbeaten knock, especially against spinners. However, Kolkata skipper Dinesh Karthik scored quick fire 23 runs off ten balls.

It is his dismissal that was the moment of the match. Dinesh Karthik mistimed a straight loft but still got plenty of power behind the shot. Virat Kohli, who was standing at long on, was quick to react and took the catch in no time.

He quickly dived into the ground to pluck a world-class catch. It is one of the best catches in the tournament so far alongside Trent Boult’s stunning grab earlier this season.

Here is the video of the catch –
