Yuvraj Singh would always remain a veteran name on the paper. At the IPL 2019 auction in Jaipur, Yuvraj stayed unsold in the first go. However, he got picked by the Mumbai Indians in the second go for his base price one crore. Meanwhile, Akash Ambani, son of the owner, Mukesh Ambani said the Yuvraj’s bidding would go down as the biggest steal in IPL auction history.

Yuvraj Singh to feature for MI in IPL 2019

One of the greatest match-winners, Yuvraj Singh, will play for the sixth franchise in the IPL history. Having played for Punjab, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore in the past, the World-Cup winner will ply his trade for the Blue Brigade this time.

Moreover, Mumbai Indians have had an eventful evening in Jaipur. Apart from a few handy purchases at the IPL 2019 auctions, MI got back the services of Lasith Malinga. Alongside them, Barinder Sran and Anmolpreet Singh were the other buys.

Returning to Yuvraj Singh, Akash Ambani seemed delighted to have the veteran name on the team sheet. He said Yuvraj’s experience of playing for different franchises in the IPL would help Mumbai to a great extent. Ambani further talked about the balance of the team and said Singh’s presence would strengthen the side only.

“To be honest, we had budgeted a lot more for Yuvraj and Malinga. At Rs one crore, a player like Yuvraj is probably a (biggest) steal of 12 (sic) years. He has won every trophy there is to be won,” Ambani told the host broadcaster of the auction.

“We focussed on experience a lot as well on the youngsters. We have identified specific roles for both of them (Yuvraj and Malinga).”

Meanwhile, as per the reports, IPL season 12 will begin on March 19th. However, the venue for the twelfth edition is yet to get confirmed, as the general elections will take place next year.
