Hanuma Vihari became the first player in the ongoing IPL Auction for which the eight teams started their bid. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians went all guns blazing for the right-handed batsman. Vihari was picked by Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crores.

Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari had recently made his debut against England in the red ball version. The right-hander had scored a fighting 56 on his debut against England at Oval in the fifth Test match. He had also scalped three wickets in the second innings of his debut match.

Vihari has a first class average of more than 58 and has been a consistent performer for his state side, Andhra. Furthermore, Vihari can also chip with the ball as he can roll over his arm to bowl off-spin.

Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari had recently played in the recently concluded Test match against Australia. Vihari had looked good for his knock of 20 runs and had come up with a partnership of more than 50 runs with Virat Kohli. He scored another 28 runs in the second dig as India lost the match by 146 runs.
