Delhi Capitals began their 2020 IPL campaign in a promising way with a victory over Kings XI Punjab this past Sunday. It was a victory set up by Marcus Stoinis’ all-round performances. Firstly, the all-rounder’s exploits with the bat hurt Punjab after which he forced the super over with the ball. Kagiso Rabada conceded only two runs in the super over as Delhi chased that down comfortably.

Delhi Capitals will square off in their second game against the Chennai Super Kings, who suffered a 16-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals after beating Mumbai Indians. While the Capitals’ bowling department rose to the occasion, it is their experienced batting line-up that needs to live up to its reputation. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmyer need to ensure that their side gets off to a good start. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Marcus Stoinis will look to go a level above.

CSK, who lead the head to head battle against Delhi, have some gaping holes they need to plug. Firstly, their opening pair needs to put on a considerable partnership followed by their bowlers, who went for plenty of runs against Rajasthan Royals. Their spinners, in particular, must get it right against Delhi Capitals to produce a winning result on Friday. Skipper MS Dhoni might also have to assess his batting spot according to the situation in the absence of Suresh Raina.

With an expected temperature of 41 degrees Celcius, there is also little chances of rain on Friday in Dubai. With the pitch in Dubai, relatively slow, the climate conditions might make it even slower. Hence, in that case, spinners will have the upper hand.
