IPL 2020: David Hussey Hails KKR Star As Best T20 Bowler In The World

Former Australia batsman and Kolkata Knight Riders mentor David Hussey has called Sunil Narine ‘argaubly the best bowler’ in T20s ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The West Indies star will be soon seen plying his trade for KKR in IPL 2020.
He recently played for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, helping the franchise win the title for the fourth time. And while he did impress in the Caribbeans, he unfortunately missed as many as seven games due to kidney stones and injury.
He started the tournament in grand fashion with back-to-back half-centuries at the top. With the ball, he showed glimpses of his prime as he spun the ball both ways with a reworked action, hiding the ball behind his back during his run-up.
“Narine arguably is the best T20 bowler in the world. In any conditions, he is one of the best players to have. Fortunately, he is at KKR, and he’ll be at his most difficult self to play and handle,” David Hussey told PTI.
Sunil Narine is an integral part of KKR. The West Indies spinner is the highest wicket-taker for the IPL side, having picked up 122 wickets in 110 matches so far. From the last couple of seasons, he has proved himself as a batsman too after being promoted as an opener.
And while he is definitely a key for the team’s batting department, David Hussey believes Narine’s main strength is bowling and he continues to be KKR’s go-to man.
“He will be one of the bowlers captain DK will throw the ball to whenever the opposition has the momentum. I’m sure Sunil Narine will win more often than not, those close battles,” said David Hussey.
Narine has been playing for KKR since the 2012 season when he was instrumental in the team winning its first IPL. He then helped the franchise win the IPL again in 2014. IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19.
