IPL 2020: Full Schedule, Timing And Venue Of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders will start their campaign in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 on 31st March, two days after the start of the 13th edition of the league. The Kolkata-based outfit will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their tournament-opener in Bengaluru.

Their first home game is on April 3 against Delhi Capitals. As usual, the franchise will play a total of 14 league games – seven home and seven away. Their final league game is on May 15 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at home in Kolkata. The Knight Riders would be looking to do well this season after failing to make it to the playoffs last year.

Despite starting the tournament on a strong note, the Knight Riders lost their way and had a terrible finish to the edition. Ahead of the last auction, they released some big names like Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Piyush Chawla, Carlos Brathwaite as they let go a total of ten players. Before the auction, they roped in Mumbai batsman Siddhesh Lad from Mumbai Indians during the trade window.

In the auction, they did not hesitate in splashing the cash. Their first buy was England’s ODI and T20I captain Eoin Morgan. The two-time champions shelled out INR 5.25 crore to sign up the England star. The Knight Riders then all out to secure the services of Australia pace spearhead Pat Cummins and made him the costliest overseas player by signing him for INR 15.5 crore.

They also roped in Rahul Tripathi, Tom Banton and Nikhil Naik to bolster their batting. Among other signings, the franchise roped in allrounder Chris Green and three spinners in the form of  Varun Chakravarthy, M Siddharth and Pravin Tambe.
