The first match of Saturday’s double-header will see Kings XI Punjab locking horns against Kolkata Knight Riders. Nothing is going right for Kings XI Punjab at this stage as they will be desperately looking to avoid a fifth straight defeat.
With five defeats in six games so far, Kings XI Punjab are in danger of missing out on a playoff spot once again. Another defeat will all but seal their fate in IPL 2020. Since the stunning 97-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore, their problems have only mounted.
While there have been some notable individual performances from their camp, Kings XI Punjab are yet to click as a team. Nicholas Pooran returned to form in the previous outing but the failure of other batsmen saw the side lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 69 runs while chasing 202.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, are in a better place compared to Kings XI Punjab. With three wins in five games, the two-time champions are in the top-half of the points table. They, however, have struggled for consistency so far and will be looking to string together a series of wins after the morale-boosting win over Chennai Super Kings in their previous outing.
