Chennai Super Kings, on Friday, confirmed their skipper MS Dhoni has landed in Chennai ahead of the pre-season camp for IPL 2020. The three-time champions will be leaving for UAE on August 21. Prior to their departure, they will have a pre-season camp in Chennai.

Barring Ravindra Jadeja, all the Indian players will attend the camp in Chennai. Jadeja will be unavailable for the camp due to personal reasons. The camp is scheduled to be held from August 15 to 20. Bowling coach L Balaji will be the only member of the coaching staff present at the camp. Head coach Stephen Fleming and assistant coach Michael Hussey are likely to join the squad in Dubai by August 22.

MS Dhoni, meanwhile, reached Chennai on the eve of the pre-season camp. The franchise confirmed the news through their official Twitter handle. They posted a picture of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman from outside the airport.

MS Dhoni will be making his much-anticipated return to action through the upcoming IPL. The former India skipper has not played a single competitive game since the World Cup semifinal in July last year. As soon as the tournament ended, he took a sabbatical from the game which would have ended in March in the IPL. However, the tournament was postponed in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

MS Dhoni was not the only player to land in Chennai on Friday. Along with him, Suresh Raina, Monu Kumar, Karn Sharma, Piyush Chawla and Deepak Chahar arrived too. All the players arrived in the same flight to Chennai. Suresh Raina took to Instagram to post a group picture of himself and his teammates from the flight.

The thirteenth edition of the IPL is scheduled to take place from September 19 to November 10.
