Former India skipper Anil Kumble has stated MS Dhoni will give his hundred percent in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). There have been murmurs from several quarters that Dhoni might struggle to get the inspiration of doing well after retiring from international cricket.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman had announced his retirement last week to leave the cricket world shocked. IPL 2020 was being seen as the tournament through which MS Dhoni would have made a comeback to the Indian team. But the 39-year old sensationally decided to bring down curtains on his international career just days ahead of IPL 2020.

However, Anil Kumble believes that Dhoni would be 100 per cent motivated this time despite calling his time on his Team India duties. Anil Kumble insisted that even he, as a player in the IPL, gave his all despite being a retired international cricketer.

“Knowing MS, he will give his 100 percent. Even when I played the IPL, the second season, I had retired from international cricket,” Anil Kumble was quoted by PTI.

As far as Anil Kumble is concerned, he is also making a return to IPL although as a coach. The legendary spinner is associated with the tournament for the first time since 2015. In 2016, he was appointed as Team India head coach before he stepped down from the post in 2017.

Hopes will be sky high from the him as he eyes guiding Kings XI Punjab to their first-ever IPL title. The Punjab-based outfit has been one of the worst performing teams in recent years. Since making it to their first-ever IPL final in 2014, Kings XI Punjab have not made it to the playoffs.
