Mumbai Indians are the most successful Indian Premier League franchise as they have won as many as four titles to their coveted trophy cabinet. The upcoming Indian Premier League is still a few months away from the start but Mumbai Indians are planning everything in advance so much so that they would be in the comfort zone. Besides selecting players, choosing the right scout is also important as it helps the team get the desirable result.

If the reports are to be believed, they could have one more high-profile name in the scouting team. As per a report published in Times of India, Pravin Amre could join the talent scout head team of Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians’ owners were immensely impressed with Amre’s strong inclination towards developing talent and taking it to Delhi- where he had earlier led the scout team.

Pravin Amre will join hands with a highly-talented talent-scout team comprising former India coach John Wright and former Indian players featuring Kiran More, Abey Kuruvilla, and TA Sekhar. Mumbai Indians are one of the finest examples of talent scouting in the Indian Premier League. It should be learnt that key players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Aditya Tare, Krunal Pandya, Mayank Markande were discovered and nurtured by the talent scouting team chaired by John Wright.

The skipper Rohit Sharma had also acknowledged the work done by the scouts over the years. “Mumbai’s scouts should be given credit for travelling to remote places and finding these talents. When we found Bumrah and Axar (Patel) playing in of the district-level matches in Gujarat, we went and watched them play,” Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said in the build-up to the previous IPL edition.

The players’ auction for the lucrative Indian Premier League will go ahead as planned on Thursday despite protests over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). There have been reports of violence in West Bengal but it has been learnt that Kolkata hasn’t been affected.

332 players will go under the hammer at the auction and the cricketers are all geared up to being a part of the all-important day. 215 capped players, 754 uncapped and 2 players from Associate Nations will be aiming to fill the available 73 spots.
