The year 2020 has been full of uncertainties as tragedies hit the world alike with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic. However with out of very few positives to pick up from IPL has been a success story this year. And the result for the cricket board and official broadcasters came after a patient wait.
IPL 2020 was originally slated to get underway in March. But it was later deferred from its original date before being postponed indefinitely. IPL has endeavoured world-class sports event for its fans: Brijesh Patel
“IPL has always endeavoured to provide a world-class sports event for its fans.”
He thanked title sponsor Dream11, which associated itself with the hugely popular league after the BCCI parted ways with its earlier partner, VIVO.
“With Dream11 coming on board as the title sponsor for IPL 2020, we are happy to see a digital sports brand like Dream11 increasing fan engagement through fantasy sport.”
“It’s equally heartening to see how Dream11 has integrated its users in all Dream11 IPL match activations. The match countdown, Dream11 Champion Fans wall and the virtual guest box have all been brought about to bring the fans to the forefront,” he added.
IPL 2020 has seen a lot of breathtaking moments which includes more than one Super Over in a day, consecutive centuries being scored, big totals been chased down. Ganguly said that these moments define the tournament and the IPL has been a smashing hit in the year 2020.
IPL 2020 was played entirely in UAE due to the pandemic situation forcing the cricket board to host the tournament away from India. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah were the three venues used for the tournament. Dream 11 was named as the sponsor for the upcoming season of the tournament after VIVO pulled out.
