After losing narrowly to Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab registered a 97-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore to open their account in IPL 2020. Kings XI Punjab’s batting revolved around KL Rahul, who clobbered an unbeaten hundred and lifted his side to 206. The captain, having led from the front, received the man of the match as well and will turn his focus to Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals will once again play in Sharjah, a venue where they amassed 216 and secured a win in their first game of IPL 2020.
They will undeniably feel bolstered by Jos Buttler, who missed the opening match due to fulfilling quarantine rules. Jos Buttler will most likely open the innings, leaving probably David Miller out of the side. Rajasthan also needs to look past Jofra Archer to control the flow of runs and make breakthroughs. While their spinners were amongst the wickets, the likes of Jaydev Unadkat and Tom Curran proved expensive.
Kings XI Punjab put on a comprehensive performance against RCB and will probably go ahead with the same side. One thing they might need addressing is the form of Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell, who have not made substantial scores in the two games. Punjab should remain careful of not being overdependent on KL Rahul as their middle-order must step up as well. Their new-ball and the spin-bowling combination is well stacked as well to handle the pressure.
IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab: Weather forecast:
Similar to the game against Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah, the temperature will remain at 42 degrees Celcius. The dew is expected to show up later in the game, which will hugely favour the batting side. There is practically no chance of showers either. It should yet again be a high-scoring game.
