Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi Capitals’ skipper, has revealed the strategy that helped Delhi Capitals (DC) mark an ecstatic win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in match 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals have achieved a massive boost after this win as they have gone on top of the IPL 2020 points table.

Delhi Capitals completely dominated the show against Royal Challengers Bangalore in all the departments and in all the phases of the match. Losing the toss, Delhi Capitals came out to bat first and the batsmen delivered as DC eventually finished on a grand total of 196-4. RCB looked completely out of shape and didn’t look to dominate the match in any phase whatsoever.

Shreyas Iyer Reveals The Strategy That Came In Handy For Delhi Capitals Against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Speaking in the post-match ceremony, Shreyas Iyer said, “Getting four out of five, I will take that any day. Kudos to the boys. Also the temperament shown in pressure situations. Strategy was to play with freedom and be fearless. We have got good youngsters in our team who are filled with energy. Just that we have to go out and execute our talent and skill.”

“It is really important for us to get good recovery after the games. It is not easy when you are in the bio bubble. WE try to get into team activities and get to know each other well. It is really saddening when your senior-most player who has been doing so well misses out. We will miss him, but we have got good replacements as well,” Shreyas Iyer added.

Delhi Capitals Climb The Ladder And Lead The IPL 2020 Points Table

With this win, Delhi Capitals have now gone on the summit of the IPL 2020 points table displacing the four-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians. DC, now have 8 points in the 5 games they have played so far. Mumbai Indians follow them on the second spot with 6 points in 5 matches. Delhi will now take on Rajasthan Royals on October 9 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

As for Royal Challengers Bangalore, they are on the third spot in the IPL 2020 points table after this loss. They have 6 points in 5 games so far. Their next assignment will be against Chennai Super Kings on October 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
