Ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL),  Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, have announced a star-studded commentary panel. The panel is a fine blend of some of the most well-known and experienced cricket experts from across to world and some exciting debutants.

On the very expected note, there was no room for Sanjay Manjrekar in the list. The former India batsman was sacked by the BCCI in March this year. Recently, he had sent an e-mail to the BCCI, requesting them to re-hire him but the board has decided against it.

Former South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy will be making his debut on the world feed and will be accompanied by some of the most reputed names in the game. The other prominent names in the world feed list are Harsha Bhogle, Mark Nicholas, Simon Doull, Ian Bishop, Michael Slater, Danny Morrison, Deep Dasgupta, Rohan Gavaskar, Pommie Mbangwa, Darren Ganga, L Sivaramakrishnan, Murali Kartik, Sunil Gavaskar, Kevin Pietersen, Anjum Chopra, Lisa Sthalekar and Kumar Sangakkara.

“The IPL has always been considered as the pinnacle of cricket leagues where the stars of the game converge on the biggest platform of them all! I am really thrilled to be making my debut as a commentator for the IPL and I hope my experience and insights will empower viewers and fans to analyse, understand and most importantly, enjoy the games together,” said JP Duminy ahead of making his debut as a commentator in IPL.

“I can’t wait for the opening match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings since I expect plenty of fireworks on the ground. I’m sure CSK and Dhoni fans all over the world will be ecstatic to watch MS Dhoni return to the playing field,” he added.

For the Hindi feed, the likes of Aakash Chopra, Ashish Nehra, Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan and others will be providing their services. IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19 in Abu Dhabi with a match between last year’s finalists Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
