India’s in-form fast bowler Mohammed Shami was bagged by Kings XI Punjab for INR 4.80 Crores. Shami is in fine form as the pacer had scalped six wickets in the second innings of the second Test match at Perth against Australia. The Indian pacer bowled with fire in the second dig to take his best bowling figures of 6-56. In fact, this was the third best bowling by an Indian bowler while playing against Australia.

Mohammed Shami doesn’t have an impressive IPL career. The fast bowler has scalped 21 wickets in 35 IPL matches at an economy of 9.13, which is not impressive. Kings XI Punjab had the maximum purse left before the IPL Auctions and thus they are going for a lot of players. They had to fight with Chennai Super Kings to bag the services of Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami had played for Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) in the previous season. However, he was generally on the expensive side.

Shami had through a tough time in his personal life after his wife had alleged a plethora of charges on him. However, Shami has now turned the tables with great success.

Shami is bowling at the top of his game against Australia and had breathed down the neck of the Australian batters in the second innings. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab has bagged the services of Nicholas Pooran for INR 4.2 Crores.

Kings XI Punjab will like to make the most of Shami services. Punjab has a potent spin battery and Shami will definitely strengthen their pace bowling unit.
