Irfan Pathan reckons that Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) still has an outside chance – to qualify to the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Bangalore-based outfit is severely hit due to their questionable death bowling. But, in the recent game against Mumbai Indians (MI), the bowling lineup delivered the goods for the side, finally in the tournament.

RCB now have to win five out of their six remaining matches to compete for the fourth spot. Although it is a steep ask, Virat Kohli has done that before in IPL history.

The last match for RCB under Virat went very well. The way he led, especially with limited resources. When he leads India he has many more resources but with these resources, he has picked up momentum which is a very good thing,” quoted Irfan Pathan according to India Times.

The likes of Tim Southee, Mohammed Siraj, and Colin de Grandhomme stood up in defence of the total of 160. Unlike the previous occasions where the bowlers couldn’t defend a target in excess of 200.

I went with RCB at the start of the tournament and I still think they can win. I know one can change prediction based on the momentum of the tournament but the kind of players they have, you never know,” added Irfan.

That said, he backed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to go deep in the tournament.

The other dangerous team always is CSK who have a great structure. They have a charismatic captain in MS Dhoni and is a kind of team that always does well” concluded Irfan Pathan.
