Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper, Kane Williamson revealed that they are pushing for improvement and are not focusing on perfection ahead of the tie against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on May 5.
Meanwhile, the Sunrisers team is placed on top of the points table relishing a stupendous performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
So far, they have six out of eight games and are well in line to make it to the playoffs.
Williamson maintained that they are looking to take baby steps rather than focussing on perfection.
“It’s been improving and that’s what we want to continue. We want to continue that trend of improvement. Small steps forward rather than us looking for perfect performances,” Williamson said.
Missing Warner was a loss for our side:
The New Zealand skipper admitted that although missing David Warner was a loss but the team has looked beyond that.
Meanwhile, Warner missed this edition of the league in the wake of the ball-tampering row.
“It (missing Warner) was a loss for our side. I guess from that point it was important that we were to look ahead and not to dwell on it and look at the group we have and try and play cricket as a team. That is something we are focused on and trying to do,” he added.
On the other hand, Delhi got the much-needed boost beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the last game. Moreover, Williamson lauded the visitors for showing great character.
“If you look at every team in the IPL, they are all very, very strong. All very strong with the local players and overseas players as well. So, every game is tough,” Williamson mentioned.
Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to return for Kane Williamson side from injury and be fit ahead of the Delhi clash.
