Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) star batsman, Mayank Agarwal has recently revealed that Karnataka-based batters in the Punjab line up have made the job easier for them in this eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, the Mohali-based outfit has availed the services of Karun Nair and Lokesh Rahul, who also hails from Karnataka. All of them hold an important stake owing to Punjab’s batting department.

Agarwal is one of the vital cogs in the Punjab middle-order. He had a stupendous premium First-class Ranji Trophy season, where he was the highest run-scorer with 1,160 runs at an average of 105.45, scoring five 100s and two 50s.

Moreover, this led Punjab to rope him for a whopping INR one crore.

However, he is yet to set the tournament on fire. One of the reasons for that has also been the performance of the Kings XI’s top-order, who has been in sublime form in the early leg of the lucrative Twenty20 league.

Karnataka core makes pretty easy for the leader:

Agarwal admitted that the core set of Punjab players, who hails from the same state have made things easier.

The top-order batsman Agarwal also revealed that it develops an understanding between each other which helps the team eventually.

It really helps to have people you play all year long with. You understand their game and they understand your game. We also complement each other which is good. The other thing is we are really good friends and always help each other out, point each other’s mistakes and help each other improve their game,” Mayank said to Cricketnext.

Talking about his own game, the prolific run-scorer admitted he made certain changes prior to the game.

Agarwal also stated having a chat with Rahul Dravid, who told him how to manage mental energy, has boosted him a lot. He also did some situation training prior to this season.

Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal feels is they can carry on the momentum to go long in this tournament.
