IPL 2018: Shivam Mavi and Avesh Khan Reprimanded for Breaching Code of Conduct
Young speedster of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Shivam Mavi and Delhi Daredevils’ pacer Avesh Khan have had been reprimanded for breaching the Code of Conduct, in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League’s (IPL) eleventh edition.
Both the fast bowlers were reprimanded for giving a send-off to the batsman which comes under Article 2.1.7 of Twenty20 league.
Mavi gave a send-off to Delhi southpaw and opening batsman Colin Munro after getting him dismissed with the yorker.
The Under-19 bowler Mavi had a few words to say to the New Zealander batsman.
On the other hand, Avesh celebrated aggressively after dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Andre Russell.
The Jamaican all-rounder Russell was also not impressed with the actions of the fast bowler.
Meanwhile, the former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar somewhat seemed infuriated with the action of the fast bowler while commentating during the match.
Gavaskar added that there is no need to celebrate in such a manner especially after dismissing the batsmen.
“Both Mr. Mavi and Mr. Khan admitted to the Level 1 offense under 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials and accepted the sanctions,” an IPL media release stated.
The Match Referee’s decision on the Level 1 breach is final. However, owing to the respite such offence don’t offer any penalty.
Avesh scalped two wickets in his quota of four overs and conceded only 29 runs.
The Delhi bowler Avesh Khan didn’t let Russell off the hook as he bowled a tight line.
On the other hand, Mavi was expensive in his allotted four overs.
KKR fast bowler went for 58 runs. Mavi was expensive in the final over as he gave away 29 runs in his last over.
Earlier, Siddharth Kaul came under the scanner for giving a send-off to Mayank Markande.
