IPL 2018: Robin Uthappa thrilled after being re-signed by Kolkata Knight Riders

The fluent stroke-maker Robin Uthappa, who will continue to play Kolkata Knight Riders in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is further, excited to be the part of the campaign.
The 32-year-old batsman Uthappa has played a pivotal role for the Kolkata-based outfit which further saw him feature in overall 149 matches since making his IPL debut in the inaugural edition of the Twenty20 league Uthappa has scored at the average of 29.40 which saw him scoring 3,735 runs.
The right-handed batsman in the IPL has smashed 22 fifties.
After representing Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Uthappa was brought into the fold of KKR family which subsequently saw the prominent batsman scoring at the brisk pace.
“I am really happy, excited and really looking forward to this new season and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Uthappa told broadcasting giant Star Sports in a video statement.
Pertinently, the first day of the mega-auction for the IPL was held in Bengaluru on Saturday (January 27) sprung a couple of surprises which further saw the bidding war taking the center stage.
While strengthening the core of the Knight Riders in the batting department, Uthappa has been eventually working hard to up his game.
“Especially, the youngsters coming in and so pretty excited about that,” Uthappa maintained.
For the 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, Uthappa, the reigning champion Mumbai Indians made the bid alongside Rajasthan Royals which further saw the Knight Riders making the last minute entry by sealing the deal while using the Right to Match card to match the bid of Indians of INR 6.4 crore.
Having the great experience on his back in the Twenty20 cricket, Uthappa played 216 T20s which saw him scoring 5,547 runs at an average of 29.34. He has smashed 32 fifties.
The international cricketer is known for changing the complexion of the game and he has proved it in the past with his pyrotechnics
