Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan congratulates his team as they put a great effort against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beating them by six wickets at their own fortress; M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (April 29) night.
Meanwhile, KKR added two crucial points as the tournament is nearing its business end.
Earlier, batting first, the Royal Challengers posted 175 runs on the board, banking on Virat Kohli’s knock.
The top-order batter Kohli played a captain’s knock scoring 68 runs off 44 balls. Brendon McCullum (38) and Quintin de Kock (29) also chipped in with useful contributions while starting off the proceedings.
However, birthday boy, Andre Russell was outstanding with the ball returning with three wickets.
In reply, Kolkata got a perfect start courtesy, Chris Lynn, and Sunil Narine. Narine (27) played a quickfire knock to provide a blistering knock while Lynn played a responsible knock.
The swashbuckling opener remained unbeaten on 62 runs off 57 balls including seven fours and one six.
Robin Uthappa and skipper Dinesh Karthik also chipped in with useful contributions.
However, it was Shubman Gill who finished off the proceedings with a sublime boundary.
Meanwhile, Lynn has finally started to show his mettle after taking some time to settle in. He batted sensibly to guide his team over the rope which is quite unusual to his playing style.
Hard-hitting sensation Lynn registered his second fifty of the season which will provide Kolkata with a huge boost going in the league.
Shah Rukh congratulates the team:
The Knight Riders boss, who visits the stadium in almost all the games to support his team, expressed his delight after team’s success.
Moreover, he congratulated Lynn for getting some runs under his belt.
Shah Rukh Khan also backed skipper Karthik’s decision to back the players even when the team is losing.
“Good team effort
