Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mentor VVS Laxman is of the opinion that the multi-faceted abilities of Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya will be more demanding due to the restraints of the modern game.
Hardik is already a quintessential member of the Indian side in all formats of the game. Whereas, Krunal is knocking at the selector’s door for his place in the Indian team, being a part of India ‘A’.
Both Pandya brothers have been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians over the past few seasons.
Also, both Hardik and Krunal are exceptional fielders, apart from chipping in with the bat in particular, and boast big-hitting skills.

“A batsman should be able to bowl and a bowler should be able to bat. Cricketers like the Hardik Pandyas, Krunal Pandyas will be more in demand because irrespective of the format the guys who can do all the three things good will be more in demand,” VVS Laxman told Indian Express.
The present season of IPL boasts of high fielding standards as misfields are exclusive events in the matches, much like the modern game at the international level.
“Fielding is non-negotiable. Whether you are a batsman or a bowler, you have to be an excellent fielder and you have to be athletic which will help you in running between the wickets. That’s how the game has evolved,” continued the SRH coaching staff member.

The innovative Pro Star League is an Under-16 tournament. It is organized in order to nurture young talents at the grass root level. The sole aim is to headhunt players with multi-faceted skills.
Pro Star League reached the city of Hyderabad through a national-level mentorship camp, in association with VVS Laxman.
The camp starts on Thursday (April 26) and is scheduled to go until May 1.
“I think encouragement of sports at grass root level is very very important. The government has got funds and it is important to develop infrastructure at grass root level like international standard grounds besides providing access to qualified and professional coaches,” concluded Laxman.
