Ireland Cricket has announced its 14-member squad for two-match T20I series against India. The Men in Green have included spinner Andy McBrine and southpaw fast bowler Joshua Little in their squad. These two bowlers have replaced Barry McCarthy and Craig Young who were part of the Ireland team in the recently concluded tri-series against Netherlands and Scotland.

Both the matches will be played at Dublin. The first T20I match will be played on June 27 with the second one scheduled to be held on June 29.

Ireland will like to pull their socks against India.

Andrew White, Chairman of Ireland Men team said at the announcement of the squad that the selectors have tried to select a potent squad.

“The selectors have chosen what we believe to be a strong, in-form squad for this format of the game that balances experience with youth. Our deliberations were around finding a side that was competitive now, but with an eye to the future.”

In fact, the Ireland team will play one more match against Sussex. Interestingly, their former southpaw batsmen Ed Joyce will be seen in action for the last time for Sussex Sharks.

“Many in the squad will be either traveling to Sussex this weekend for the Ed Joyce Testimonial match on Sunday. They will be re-joining the senior squad from their English County sides. We had a good look at a number of players on the recent Tri-Series in the Netherlands. This weekend’s match in Sussex will firm up the decisions made on the final playing eleven for the first fixture on Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, the tickets for the first T20I is selling out first. Match tickets can be pre-purchased from Ticketmaster. Gary Wilson will continue to hold the reins of captaincy.
