Irfan Pathan Aims High to Return to Team India

Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan reiterated that he is trying his best to make a comeback to Team India. In fact, the seam bowling all-rounder had last played the One-day International for India in 2012.

Furthermore, the left-arm fast bowler played his last Test match in the Indian colours in 2006.

Meanwhile, Irfan recently visited Ludhiana to take part in the inaugural ceremony of the opening of a Cricket Academy. Pathan said that Punjab has produced some of the best Indian players. Consequently, the academy will aim to produce the talented group of players in the foreseeable future.

Pathan aims to make a change:

Irfan Pathan said while talking to media, “Punjab has produced several international cricket stars who made the nation proud on foreign soil but the main motive to open this academy in one of the biggest cities of Punjab is to bring out more such talented players who can contribute to the Indian cricket team, like other former players. 

 

“With advanced coaching skills, the coach will polish raw talent from across the state, offer them impeccable infrastructure, and carefully watch their performance,” he added.

Pathan said that he is hopeful of making it back to the Indian team. However, the southpaw all-rounder said that the youth should focus on sports and give their best to excel.

“I am also trying my best to come back in the India team. My message for the city’s youth is that they should give the same importance to sports, as they are giving to other activities because sports is necessary for the overall development of the youth,” he further added.

Pathan added that cricket academy will aid the young children as well the coaches who aspire to understand the game better.

Baroda-based Irfan Pathan added that it will help them in knowing the game in nutshell.

“This cricket academy will provide coaching to children to play cricket, as well as those who aspire to become coaches in order to understand in order to understand the technicalities of the game,” Pathan concluded.
