Former India allrounder Irfan Pathan, on Saturday (August 22), came up with an exciting idea about giving fitting farewells to some of Indian cricket’s greatest heroes. A number of legendary players in recent past bowed out of the game in a silent manner.
Recently, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina also announced their retirement from international cricket. Since the duo’s retirement, the fans as well as several past and present cricketers have been urging the BCCI to organise a farewell game for the two.
And amidst all these, Irfan Pathan came up with a brilliant idea. The former all-rounder, who retired from the game earlier this year, proposed a charity match between the recently retired Indian cricket legends and the current players of Team India.
He took to Twitter to announce the idea while also revealing a playing XI of the recently retired cricketers – Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Prgayan Ojha.
“Many people are talking about a farewell game for retired players who didn’t get a proper send-off from the game. How about a charity cum farewell game from a team consisting of retired players vs the current Indian team?,” Irfan Pathan tweeted.

‘Chiku hamara kachumbar bana dega’
Unsurprisingly, the fans were delighted with Irfan Pathan’s proposal as they expressed their excitement to see the stars of yesteryear taking the field again. But one of the fans came up with a different kind of reply. He asked Irfan Pathan as to why he is so hellbent on causing trouble for Virat Kohli, writing: “Kyun chiku ko pelne me lge ho”
Irfan Pathan noticed the tweet and the former allrounder came up with a hilarious reply. The ex-India international tweeted:
“Chiku hamara kachumbar bana dega (roughly translated to Chiku will crush us).
