Just a few days ago, Jasprit Bumrah was looking almost unplayable in this year’s Indian Premier League. The India pace spearhead was at his devastating best around a fortnight ago, helping Mumbai Indians to clinch a record fifth IPL title. He finished the tournament as the second highest wicket-taker with 27 scalps.

But his form for India in the ongoing series against Australia has been completely opposite. Jasprit Bumrah is looking like a pale shadow of his usual self in international cricket. Apart from struggling to take wickets, he has also struggled to keep the batsmen under check.

Widely regarded as one of the best in the world, Jasprit Bumrah has looked largely ineffective in the ongoing series. In the first ODI, he had conceded 73 runs while taking one wicket. In the second game on Sunday, he went for 79 runs while taking one wicket.

Is Jasprit Bumrah angry at the way he is being handled:

Jasprit Bumrah’s contrasting form for India and IPL in just a matter of days has been really baffling. So the question that arises now is – Is Jasprit Bumrah not being handled well by Virat Kohli? Recently former India cricketers Ashish Nehra and Gautam Gambhir had criticised the way Kohli used Jasprit Bumrah in the second ODI.

And now photos of a frustrated Jasprit Bumrah from the match have emerged, making it more or less clear that he is not at all happy with the way things are going on the field. In the photo, the 26-year-old is being seen kicking the 30-yard fielding markers away in anger.

Earlier, Nehra had questioned Kohli’s captaincy decisions regarding Bumrah during the second ODI. The pacer had bowled the second and fourth overs of the innings, conceding 7 runs including a maiden in his first over. But surprisingly, Kohli took him out of the attack and things went downhill for him after that.

“In today’s game, Virat Kohli gave two overs to Mohammed Shami and then brought Navdeep Saini. He wanted Shami to bowl from the other end, that I understand, but then, why would he use Jasprit Bumrah for only two overs with the new ball?” Nehra had told Cricbuzz.
