It means Cheteshwar Pujara has not yet taken the field. There are hardly any chances of play on day four as well. It might also see Pujara not batting in the first round of county cricket.

Meanwhile, Varun Aaron will be action next week when Leicestershire kick off their campaign against Sussex.

The three Indian players will have a brief stint with their county teams.

Axar Patel, the Indian all-rounder who is looking for a Test spot, will also play county cricket for Durham.

He will join the team in August. Of all these four players, only Ishant and Pujara will be in the squad for England Tests. The two players would be looking to make most out of the match they will play in next couple of weeks.

The India tour of England kicks off in July with the visitors playing limited-overs games first. In August-September, a five-match Tests series will be played which will be a real test for the Indian team.

To prepare for the tour, Virat Kohli, Indian skipper, will also play county cricket. It is yet to be confirmed whether he will play for Surrey or Essex? He will skip the historic Test against Afghanistan to play county cricket.
