Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis is one of the greatest all-rounders—to have ever graced the game of cricket. His record in all three formats of the game speaks for itself.
Having retired from international cricket in 2014, Kallis was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2014. He welcomed his first child on Wednesday, March 11th.

The retired all-rounder took to Twitter and announced his news by posting a caption.
“Welcome to the world Joshua Henry Kallis. Most incredible day of both our lives. Hearts exploding with love. Truely blessed @charlene_engels.”
Along with Graeme Smith, Ab de Villiers, Herschelle Gibbs, Kallis was one of Proteas’ senior players of his era, who helped them win a lot of games at home and even overseas.

In addition to his stint in the IPL, he also featured in the Big Bash League (BBL) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He continued playing franchise cricket all over the globe till 2016.
In late 2019, he was appointed as the batting consultant of the South African national team.

Unlike his teammates or colleagues, the veteran tied the knot quite late.
The 44-year-old married Charlene Engels in January 2019 after the couple dated for a long time.

The couple has since then kept their lives private and on Wednesday announced the birth of their first kid.
The experienced all-rounder will not be a part of the upcoming season of the IPL. Kallis took the coaching role of KKR in 2016 and stayed till 2019. New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum replaced the South African for the thirteenth edition.
