James Anderson, one the greatest fast bowlers to have ever played the game, is hoping to play four out of the six Test matches this summer.
Anderson, who claimed three wickets during England’s four-wicket defeat at Southampton last week, was rested from the ongoing Test at Old Trafford as was Mark Wood, as England continue to follow the rotation policy in the wake of a packed schedule.
“There’s no plan, as such, as to what I’ll play for the summer but I think for the bowlers getting through four out of six would be pretty good,” James Anderson told Sky Sports.
“After a long break and with those Test matches in a really short space of time, I think that’s probably the hope for the coaches and medical team. There was some stiffness there but [that was] to be expected really. It feels good now after a few days resting.” Anderson said.

“If we can get home for a few days, then brilliant”- James Anderson
England will play an ODI series against Ireland before they lock horns with Pakistan in a three-match Test series and James Anderson is hoping he gets a chance to leave the bio-secure bubble and spend a few days with his family.
“I’ve heard whispers but nothing confirmed. Obviously it’d be nice if we can get home for a few days so we’ll just keep our fingers crossed on that one,” he said.
“I can’t say it’s been hard because we’re in a hotel and we’ve got nice surroundings. We’re looked after well and we’re getting to play cricket which is amazing really after the last few months. We’re grateful for that. If we can get home for a few days, then brilliant, but if not, we’ll just have to knuckle down and realize it’ll be another three or four weeks before we can get home properly.” James Anderson said.
The third Test of the series will also take place at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if James Anderson makes a comeback to the English side for what could turn out to be the series decider.
