Australia Test specialist James Pattinson will be in action in the upcoming Test summer, having made a comeback during Ashes 2019. James Pattinson, who made his debut back in 2011, suffered plenty of injuries before getting a chance to wear the Baggy Green again. And having played for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 alongside Jasprit Bumrah, the right-arm seamer revealed to have picked his Indian counterpart’s brains.

James Pattinson, who was one of the pacers in Mumbai Indians’ victorious IPL 2020 campaign, performed considerably well for the franchise. In ten matches, the Victorian snapped 11 wickets at 29.09. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was undoubtedly the star with 27 wickets in the tournament, becoming the second-highest wicket-taker. At present, Pattinson is involved in the practice match against India A, where he has figures of 16-5-41-3.

But James Pattinson and Jasprit Bumrah will find themselves opposite of each other during the Test series between India and Australia that commences on the 17th. The 30-year old Australian seamer showed signs of his best form when he took six wickets in two Tests the last summer. As for Bumrah, he has remained slightly inconsistent recently; however, his red-ball credentials are hard to question.

James Pattinson hailed Jasprit Bumrah as one of the best T20 bowlers in the world and is particularly impressed by his yorkers. Pattinson admitted that he remains awestruck of the 26-year old’s ability to nail the yorkers consistently and that his unusual action is what makes him successful. The 30-year old added that Bumrah hits the top-gear, especially when bowling at the training and keeps practising continuously.

Boom is one of the best, if not the best, T20 bowler in the world. I picked his brain. I was asking about his yorkers and how he gets them so good; he likes to bowl from a higher position and a few other things. You watch him bowl and just think ‘how does he do that!?’ It’s fantastic. He’s got an unusual action, been allowed to keep doing that and it’s what makes him successful. He’s a fantastic guy. He bowls a lot more than I thought he would at training. He just bowls and bowls and bowls. You see how switched on he is,” Pattinson said as quoted by Times of India.
