Jasprit Bumrah a Confident Guy and Always Ready to Learn, Admits Munaf Patel

Former Indian National Cricket team player Munaf Patel has praised young fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah saying that he is a confident guy and a quick learner. Meanwhile, Bumrah is currently out of action as the selectors have carefully managed his workload with the ICC World Cup looming large.
Jasprit Bumrah has been a formidable force since he made his ODI debut in 2016. He also made a wonderful debut season in Test cricket in 2018 as he finished as the highest wicket-taker for India. He also bagged 21 wickets as India registered their first-ever Test series win in Australia. Munaf Patel hailed Jasprit Bumrah saying that thanks to Mumbai Indians for giving him a chance.
In addition to, Patel noted that Bumrah learned the art of slower deliveries and yorker from Lasith Malinga. Bumrah also worked with Zaheer Khan and Shane Bond, which helped him to grow. Munaf Patel also lauded Bumrah’s ability to learn from others, and he has also worked on his fitness.
“Jasprit Bumrah is a quick learner. Thanks to Mumbai Indians for giving him a chance. He learned slower and yorker deliveries from Lasith Malinga in Mumbai Indians and then also worked with Shane Bond and Zaheer Khan. He is a confident guy and is always ready to learn from others. He has also worked hard on his fitness. He has proven that anything can be achieved if you are ready to learn,” Munaf Patel told Sports Tak.
India top contender to lift the World Cup
Munaf Patel, who was part of the victorious World Cup team in 2011, also said India have a strong team and that makes them one of the top contenders to lift the World Cup in England and Wales starting May 30.
Moreover, Patel also added that the men in blues have a strong bowling attack which will come in handy for the side. Also, India winning series in overseas condition will boost their confidence ahead of the showpiece event.
“India’s bowling unit has been performing well. India’s batting has always been strong but our bowling has also become very strong now. We have been winning matches and series overseas and that will boost the team’s morale ahead of the World Cup. We have a strong team and that makes us one of the top contenders to win the World Cup,” Munaf concluded.
