Jasprit Bumrah Injured And Ruled Out Of The Test Series Against South Africa; Replacement Named

The Indian National Cricket Team was struck with a major blow as their premium fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the first Test against South Africa. The flamboyant cricketer have been replaced by Umesh Yadav.

Jasprit Bumrah, who played in West Indies’ Tests after taking rest in limited-overs, has sustained a minor stress fracture. The board doesn’t want to take any chances on their premium fast bowler. For the same, they called in Umesh Yadav as a replacement.

Umesh Yadav replaces Jasprit Bumrah – BCCI

Jasprit Bumrah suffered a stress fracture in his lower back and will be rested for the entire series. However, this would be a piece of massive news for Umesh Yadav. He always had good numbers to his name in Indian conditions. And also, he has been waiting for a chance to prove his calibre.

Announcing the news on social media, BCCI tweeted quoting “TeamIndia fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has sustained a minor stress fracture in his lower back. He has been ruled out of the upcoming Paytm Freedom Series for Gandhi-Mandela Trophy against South Africa.”

The Gujarat based seamer broke the back of West Indies batsmen in the last series, introducing a newfound consistency with the away going delivery. The world has been left speechless after the performances Jasprit Bumrah has put in for the past few years.

He has been instrumental in India’s rise in world cricket due to his immaculate bowling. Bumrah is the leading ODI bowler in the world while now entering the top-3 of the Test rankings as well. His rise has coincided with India’s dominance in Test cricket as Virat Kohli and Co. attained greater success after his entry.

Recently, Jasprit Bumrah became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 50 Test wickets. He also registered a hat-trick to become the third Indian cricketer to take a Test hat-trick. All in all, it is a massive blow for India, who are at the top of ICC Test World Championship.
