Most of the big names in the cricket world might not be playing county cricket in recent times but there is little denying the fact that most of them would love to. In the past, some of the biggest names in the history of game have graced the English sores to play county cricket.

Well, Jasprit Bumrah also harbours hopes of playing county cricket. He, however, has made it clear that he does not have time for the same. One cannot disagree with Bumrah in this regard. He is India’s pace spearhead across formats and rarely gets time off from the game.

“May be in the future (I will think about county), but I don’t know as of now because you are playing throughout the year, so there is little period of time where you get time off,” Jasprit Bumrah explained.

“…and when you get time off, that is the time you want to work on your body, so you cant be playing 12 months a year (and) you have to take care of your body as well. May be in the future if you get an opportunity (I will think about it)…” the 25-year-old added.

Talking about current Indian cricketers who play county cricket, there are a number of them. The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay have plied their trade in UK in recent times.

Jasprit Bumrah, who arrived at the scene as a white-ball specialist, has been absolute revelation in Tests. On the tour of West Indies, he picked up five-wicket haul in both the games and also picked up a hat-trick in the second game.

“I always wanted to play Test cricket,” he said.

“… it has been 12 Test matches (so far). I have played Test matches in South Africa, Australia, England, West Indies and I am learning from this experience that I have got. Now, playing in India will pose its own challenges and I am looking forward to it,” he added.
