Joe Root Gets Married to Carrie Cotterell in Sheffield, Arrives in White Rolls Royce

England Test skipper Joe Root, on Saturday, got married to his partner, Carrie Cotterell in Sheffield. However, what made headlines was the arrival of him at the wedding, as Root came in a white Rolls Royce with his father, Matt and best man, brother Billy.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old proposed Carrie Cotterell before the World T20 in 2016. Although Joe Root and Cotterell had been dating for just under two years before Root asked her to marry him.

Root-led England thumped Sri Lanka in Tests

However, despite leading England to a 3-0 win over Sri Lanka in Tests, Root had a decent outing with a bat too. In three games, the right-handed batsman had hit 229 runs including a brilliant of 124 in the second Test.

Even though Joe Root listed among the four best batsmen of the current era, including that of Virat Kohli, Steven Smith and Kane Williamson, he has struggled to hit big scores on a consistent basis.

Meanwhile, the England captain only has 15 of his 41 fifty-plus Test score getting converted to hundreds. It means he has a poor conversion rate compared to that of Virat Kohli (61.11%) or Steven Smith (51.11%) or even Kane Williamson (40.54%).

As mentioned above, under Joe Root’s captaincy, England had achieved a clean-sweep over depleted Sri Lankan team. Before this, England had beaten an upbeat Indian team at home 4-1.

Moreover, Joe Root so far had played 77 Test matches scoring 6508 runs with a healthy average of 50.44. His highest individual score remains 254 runs against Pakistan in 2016.
