The young cricketer from Sussex, Jofra Archer, who had a brilliant stint in BBL this year has now pulled out of the Hong Kong T20 Blitz.

The third edition of the tournament will commence from February 6 and will have five teams fighting it out for the title over a duration of six days. The finals will be played on February 11.

The tournament has brought some changes in this year’s rules, as they have allowed teams to sign six overseas players. However, they can field only five. The remainder of the squad of 16 will be picked from Hong Kong’s best domestic talent.

This edition will feature some experienced players like Darren Sammy, Kumar Sangakkara, Ravi Bopara among many.

Archer, who was contracted to play for Galaxy Gladiators Lantau has opted out from the league. The news got confirmed by the CEO of Hong Kong Cricket, Tim Cutler from his Twitter handle. The franchise has announced New Zealand’s Anton Devcich as his replacement.

Archer grabbed eyeballs in the recently concluded BBL, after being the joint highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He also was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals for a hefty sum for the upcoming Indian Premier League.
