The praises and the accolades keep on flowing for Jos Buttler following his masterclass to seal the three-match series against Australia in Southampton on Sunday. Jos Buttler’s unbeaten knock of 77 while opening the innings played the anchor role as England chased down 158 with six wickets to spare. Australian left-arm spinner Ashton Agar has heaped praises on him.

Jos Buttler’s place in England’s Tests side was increasingly under scrutiny at the start of the season. It was in the first Test against Pakistan that the 29-year old batsman’s form turned around. Buttler scored 75 in the fourth innings of that game followed by 152 in the third Test. In the first T20I, he blazed to 44 before throwing it away but continued his golden summer. However, the keeper-batsman remained till the end in the second game.

Ashton Agar, who dismissed Jos Buttler in the first T20I, labelled him as an incredible player, who can hit all around the park. The left-arm spinner reckons that Buttler is challenging to bowl to, staying till the end to finish off the game, hailing the Englishman their best limited-overs player presently.

Buttler is an incredible player, he can hit all around the ground, he is diffficult to bowl to, he finishes the games off, he is often there at the end taking England over the line, hats off to him, he is an incredible player. He is probably their best white-ball player currently,” Agar told in a virtual press conference.

Ashton Agar reveals why it is difficult to bowl to Jos Buttler:

The Western Australian continued saying that his side knows he is a gun player; however, the belief in yourself could become a weakness or strength. Agar feels that Jos Buttler could thrash the confidence of any player and deserves all the appreciation.

It is tough, we know he is a gun player, there is no question about that, however, your belief in yourself can be your biggest assest or weakness, if you are the top of your mark thinking how am I going to bowl to this bloke, then you are already making the job hard for yourself. Sometims guys play really well and you need to appreciate them,” the 26-year old added.
