Jharkhand State Cricket Association Aims To Felicitate MS Dhoni

One of the greatest Indian captains, MS Dhoni, pulled curtains on his international career on India’s 74th Independence day. He called time on his international career after an illustrious 15-year career and playing nearly 500 games for the Indian team. While no farewell match will likely take place for MS Dhoni, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is looking at a felicitation.

MS Dhoni remains one of the most successful captains that the Indian team, having guided them to all three ICC trophies with the first one coming in 2007. Since the keeper-batsman’s final game in the national colours, talks of his international future began trending.

Moreover, MS Dhoni kept mum on whether he was going to play for India again. And a year after his last game for India, the 39-year-old suddenly announced his retirement on 15th of August, 2020.

According to the JSCA Secretary Sanjay Sahay, they have planned a felicitation about which they will consult MS Dhoni as and when he returns from the UAE, where the 2020 IPL would take place. They did have an annual meeting on Sunday; however, the members will arrive at a decision only after speaking with the former Indian captain.

As of now they have planned to consult the former India captain for his felicitation once he returns home from the UAE after the completion of the IPL. After we talk to him only then we can come to any decision about it. We haven’t taken any deicison today,” Sanjay Sahay told Times of India.

We will definitely request MS Dhoni for the felicitation: JSCA

Sahay further said that they would indeed request the iconic cricketer for the felicitation. If the BCCI does not perform it, the association will do it in their way.

We will definitely request MS Dhoni for the felicitation. Whatever we do we need to ask him first. BCCI will probably do it their own way but if it doesn’t happen then definitely we would like to do something about it,” he added.
