Kamran Akmal and Gautam Gambhir are two of the fiercest characters on the cricket field representing their nations. An India-Pakistan match, be it in any sport is a treat for the spectators and is one of the greatest rivalries on and off the field. And when characters like Gautam Gambhir and Kamran Akmal are present on the field, it is none short of an action movie.

Kamran Akmal and Gautam Gambhir were involved in a heated exchange on the field in an Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan in 2010. It was the semi-final of the tournament in Sri Lanka where Kamran and Gautam went at each other all guns blazing when Gambhir got irritated over Kamran’s constant appeals and the umpires had to intervene to stop the verbal clash.

“It was all due to misunderstanding and happened in the heat of the moment then. Gautam and I are good friends because we have played a lot in ‘A’ cricket. We met regularly during the cricketing tours, had food together,” Akmal said about the infamous war of words Gambhir.

”It was all due to me not understanding what he said. The same with Ishant at Bangalore. You know me I don’t say much on the field. Both Gautam and Ishant are very good boys. We respect them and they respect us. What happens on the field, stays there,” he recalled.
