Kane Richardson, the Australian fast bowler, is excited at the prospect of reuniting with his mates at his former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore [RCB] and once again playing under the leadership of Virat Kohli in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Richardson, who has previously represented RCB in 2016, was one of the six players alongside Aaron Finch, Joshua Phillips, Isuru Udana, Chris Morris, and Dale Steyn, which were picked by the Virat Kohli-led franchise in the 2020 auctions.

The Australian fast bowler said that he is looking forward to playing with Virat Kohli, adding that he wants to see what makes the feisty Indian captain ‘tick’

”Huge. These guys (Virat, AB de Villiers) are the absolute legends of the game. Anything I can learn from them will be a bonus, that’s for sure. I am really looking forward to playing with Virat, there are few more competitive players in the world. I am really looking forward to seeing what makes him tick,” Kane Richardson told PTI.

Kane Richarson also added that he is looking forward to learning a few tricks from the legendary Dale Steyn and how he managed to perform at the highest level for such a long period of time.

‘There are loads I can learn from Dale. He has been amongst the best at the highest level for so long. His control and ability to swing the ball without losing his pace is really impressive. I look forward to getting in his ear about how he performs so consistently over a long period, in all forms,” said Kane Richardson.

The 13th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League will kickstart in the United Arab Emirates from September 19. The 53-day tournament will consist of 10 double-headers and its final will take place in November. The upcoming edition of the IPL will provide another opportunity to the perennial underachievers RCB to shrug off their horrors of the past three seasons, where they ended up with a wooden spoon twice, and hopefully emulate their feats of 2016.
