West Indies have recalled their allrounder Keemo Paul for the forthcoming second Test against India. Keemo Paul has replaced Cummins in the squad, West Indies announced on Tuesday. He was a part of the squad for the first Test too before an ankle injury ruled him out of the game. West Indies had later called up Cummins in the squad while allowing Paul to remain with the squad for the rehabilitation.

Cummins had gone on to play the game but failed to make an impression. He conceded 69 runs in 20 wicketless overs across two innings. He also created a dubious record with the bat. Cummins faced 45 deliveries and spent 95 minutes at the crease without scoring a run before he was dismissed.

It was the second longest innings in Test cricket for someone being dismissed without scoring. That dubious record is still held by New Zealander Geoff Allott. Allott survived for 101 minutes before falling for a duck against South Africa in Auckland in 1999.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton will remain with the squad. Shane Dowrich has returned to Barbados to continue his rehabilitation, after being ruled out of the series with an ankle injury. Thus Shai Hope is likely to keep the wickets for the second Test too.

Talking about the first Test, India thrashed West Indies by 318 runs. It was the biggest margin of victory for India in overseas Test matches in terms of run. Chasing an improbable 418, West Indies were all out for just 100. With this result, skipper Virat Kohli became the most successful Indian captain in overseas Test matches. The second Test will start on August 30 in Jamaica.
