Kevin Pietersen may have been one of the most controversial players in England; however, he was also one the most impactful. His unflinching presence at the crease often flagged nightmare for the bowlers. Pietersen played key roles for England in 2005 Ashes, 2009 Ashes, 2010-11 Ashes, and at the victorious campaign of the 2010 ICC World T20. And yet, he did have a regret, which he revealed during an interview with Times Now.

Pietersen’s brief removal from the English team in 2012 came in the wake of sending text messages about Andrew Strauss to the opposition. Though he was back in the side, there arose backlash over his comeback as some teammates weren’t happy. Earlier, former English spinner Graeme Swann claimed that he openly disliked the South African born.
Finally, after a 5-0 drubbing in 2013-14 Ashes down under, Kevin Pietersen didn’t play a single game. The 39-year old averaged only 29 in ten innings in that rubber, having passed a score of fifty-plus only once. Pietersen later announced his retirement, conceding that he never wished for his career to end on such a sad note.
Kevin Pietersen Reveals His Biggest Regret:
If not more than the Indian fans, English fans are crazy about cricket too and appear in large numbers during home games. The 104-Test veteran said that his hugest regret was not bidding adieu to the fans in one of the fully-packed grounds. It was his wish one last time to give his fans the joy in exchange for how they supported him.
“One of the regrets I have in my career is that I did not get to say goodbye to England fans in a way where I could have batted one last time in front of a full house at one of the grounds they came in to support over the years.” Kevin Pietersen said.
