From one of the most prolific directors in Bollywood today, by the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has given us blockbusters such as Devdas, Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, came yet another epic named ‘Padmaavat’. The trailer of the movie starring Bollywood heart-throb Ranveer Singh voted the sexiest man in Asia-Shahid Kapoor, and the stunning Deepika Padukone was enough to give chills down the spine of the viewers back in November last year.

Very seldom do we see a movie create such a civil uproar as the movie apparently hurt the sentiments of the Rajput community, thereby, demanding the movie to be banned. The movie was shelved for a couple of months just as fans planned to buy their tickets to the movie theatre.

As it turned out, the CBFC allowed the release of the movie after omitting certain scenes and editing the name of the movie as ‘Padmaavat’. However, the civil unrest did not subside by any means as the goons from the Rajput community wrecked carnage into the theatres and threatened lives of the audience in the cinema halls.
