KL Rahul Is One Of The Best White-Ball Players Going At The Moment: Nasser Hussain

Former English captain Nasser Hussain has heaped praises on India’s keeper-batsman. Indian cricket team has a plethora of talent that keeps on producing quality cricketers every year. With the IPL taking place every year, an alarming number of players emerge to make their case strong to don the Indian jersey. Nasser Hussain has been impressed with KL Rahul, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent times.
KL Rahul, who got recently awarded the vice-captaincy for India’s limited-overs side ahead of Australia tour, has been in the form of his life. The 28-year old bagged the Orange Cap in IPL 2020 for mustering 670 runs at 55.83 in 14 matches at a strike rate of 129.34. It included five fifties and an unbeaten 132, which is the highest score by an Indian in the cash-rich league’s history. In his first year of captaincy, he led Kings XI Punjab considerably well.
According to Nasser Hussain, KL Rahul is one of the best white-ball cricketers presently. The Chennai-born commented that he is an excellent example for any youngster not to over hit the ball and striking it perfectly.
“Rahul, I think, is one of the best white-ball players going at the moment. He is a good lesson for any young boy or girl about how to stroke a cricket ball and not over-hit it. Rahul strokes it beautifully,” Hussain stated as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Along with Rahul, Naseer Hussain also appreciated Shikhar Dhawan, who he claimed is picturesque to watch. Hussain admitted that T20 is about muscling the ball; however, Dhawan and Rahul, who are gifted stroke players, have had stellar tournaments. It is imperative to note that Shikhar Dhawan was the second-highest run-getter in IPL 2020 with 618 runs and two centuries.
“These two openers are so pleasing on the eye. T20 is about muscle and hitting the ball but it’s also about stroking the ball and Dhawan and Rahul had magnificent tournaments,” the 52-year old added.
