Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly’s latest tweet is going to leave a bad taste in mouth for all the fans who support Argentina football team and especially Lionel Messi. The batting star has himself confessed he is a big Messi fan.

Before the start of the FIFA World Cup, Ganguly had revealed although Brazil was his favourite team, he would cheer for Messi.

“I will look forward to Messi. He’s yet to win a World Cup. It’s going to be a big World Cup for him,” Ganguly had said.

“Brazil is my favourite team but I am a fan of Messi,” he had added.

However, just a couple of hours after Messi’s Argentina was dumped out of the FIFA World Cup by France, Ganguly posted a tweet that is bound to leave a bad taste in mouth for all the Messi fans. With Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal taking on Uruguay in another game, Ganguly expressed his desire of seeing Ronaldo making a mark in the game, tweeting:

“This World Cup football quality has been remarkable …what a ball from suarez..want to be ronaldos nite….”

Ganguly, meanwhile had to endure another heartbreak as Ronaldo failed to inspire Portugal to a win over Uruguay. The South Americans defeated Portugal 2-1 to dump the European champions out of the World Cup.

Edinson Cavani starred in the game, scoring twice for Uruguay while Pepe scored the one for Portugal. Cavani opened the scoring early on, playing a superb one-two with Luis Suarez before thumping home a header from his strike partner’s cross. Portugal equalised after the break when Pepe rose unmarked to nod in. However, Cavani secured Uruguay’s place in the last eight when he steered a brilliant shot beyond goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
