Harvinder Singh, brother of Kings XI Punjab batsman Mandeep Singh, has rubbished the reports of his father Hardev Singh’s death. Earlier on Thursday, several media reports suggested that Hardev breathed his last in a Chandigarh hospital.

Punjab Kesari Sports had reported that Hardev’s health deteriorated last month itself when the IPL had just begun. The family had admitted him to the nearby hospital but he had to shifted to Chandigarh after his condition deteriorated. The news outlet then went on to report that Hardev had breathed his last.

However, Harvinder has quashed the reports, according to Indian Express. However, he has also stated that his father’s health is not at all promising at the moment, revealing that Hardev is still on ventilator and under critical observation.

Mandeep Singh in IPL 2020:

Mandeep Singh is currently in UAE for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman is plying his trade for his home franchise Kings XI Punjab. He, however, has failed to get regular chances so far.

So far, he has only played in three matches and managed to score only 33 runs. His last outing was against KKR on October when he was out for a duck during his team’s disappointing 2-run loss. With KXIP doing well at the moment, it won’t be surprising if Mandeep Singh does not get a chance any time soon.

After managing just 1 win from their opening seven games, KXIP have won their last three games, beating Mumbai Indians, Royals Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals. With four wins from ten games, they are currently at the sixth spot in the points table.
