Just a day after leading Karnataka to a thrilling one-run win over Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India cricketer Manish Pandey is set for yet another big occasion. The dashing batsman is all set to tie the knot on Monday (December 2). The Karnataka captain, who is the latest groom in the Indian dressing room, will be getting married to actress Ashrita Shetty at a hotel in Mumbai.

He himself revealed the news on Sunday while speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony after leading his state side to back-to-back titles. Prior to leading Karnataka to Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he had also helped his team win the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

“Looking forward to the India series, but before that, there is another important series for me, I am getting married tomorrow,” said Pandey who is a part of India’s T20I squad for the upcoming series against West Indies.

India will host West Indies this month for three T20Is and as many ODIs. The tour will start with the T20I series on December 6 in Hyderabad. Pandey, meanwhile, will be travelling to Mumbai from Surat by road to join his family for the wedding. The wedding will be attended by the couple’s close friends and relatives. A few members of the Indian Cricket Team, as well as the domestic cricketers, will be attending the wedding too.

Pandey stars in Karnataka’s win:

Manish Pandey, meanwhile, starred with the bat in the 1-run win over Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Karnataka restricted Tamil Nadu to 179 for 6 after posting 180 for 5 on the board. Pandey scored 60 not out off 45 balls with the help of four boundaries and a couple of sixes. He was well supported by Rohan Kadam, who made 35 off 28 balls as the two added 65 runs in quick time for the fourth wicket. In reply, Tamil Nadu were in contention till the last ball of the match but could not score the three runs needed from the final delivery.
