It has been a brilliant season so far for the opening batsman of the Indian National Cricket Team Mayank Agarwal. He already broke quite a few records for India with his stunning knocks and now, ahead of the final game of the series against Bangladesh, he is on brink of bagging a very rare Test record in his kitty to equal the legendary Don Bradman.
The young Mayank Agarwal made his Test debut in December last year and has since struck 858 runs across 12 innings including three centuries and as many half-centuries. Twice he has converted hundreds into double-centuries and currently averages a stunning 71.50. During the course of his performances, he also solved India’s problem with the opening section.
Mayank Agarwal require 142 runs to reach 1000 Test runs:
Now, the opener requires 142 runs to register 1000 runs in Test Cricket. If he achieves the feat in the first innings of the game against Bangladesh, Mayank Agarwal equals Don Bradman to reach 1000 runs in just 13 innings. And also, he overtakes Vinod Kambli of India, who achieved the feat in 14 innings.

Though 142 runs require a huge effort from the batsman, going by his form, it looks gettable unless Bangladesh bowler delivers a magical delivery. Apart from his batting dominance in the middle, Mayank Agarwal recently quoted that he is pretty much in a positive mindset to make things fall in place for the team.
Looking forward to playing the Pink Ball Test –
Further, the flamboyant batsman is looking forward to playing the Pink Ball Test match. He registered double century in the first game, which is his second in his short career in this format of the game. Yet another interesting fact for Mayank Agarwal to go into the game is that he had a brilliant record at Eden Gardens when he played his first-class cricket.

”We played three sessions under lights back in Bangalore. Rahul Dravid had arranged that for us. It was a good experience. Looking forward to playing the pink ball Test match,” he added.
Despite being in the form of his life, Mayank Agarwal will face a serious test from Bangladesh bowlers with the pitch helping the bowlers under lights. His batting technique will be tested as well.
