Former West Indies pacer, Michael Holding has heaped high praise on Indian all-rounders; Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja after the duo scripted a match-winning partnership against Australia.

On Wednesday, in Canberra, India once again found themselves behind the game after losing captain Virat Kohli at the score of 152/5. Over the next 18 overs, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja not only resurrected the innings but also took the team to a defendable total with a 150-run stand.

Pandya continued his rich vein of form and scored 92* from 76 balls. Jadeja played a perfect second fiddle with a knock of 66 runs of 50 balls. The duo treaded carefully against the spinners and then launched an attack on the pacers in the last 5 overs.

Later, Jadeja took an important wicket of a set Aaron Finch as Australia fell 13 runs short, and the men in blue registered their maiden victory on tour. The T20I series commences on Friday in Canberra, the same venue as the third ODI. The hosts will be without the services of David Warner and Part Cummins.

In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Michael Holding lavishes praise for the Indian duo of Pandya and Jadeja. He opines that the two all-rounders are capable of changing the game with bat and ball in hand.

Hardik hasn’t bowled for more than a year – apart from the second ODI – owing to his back injury. However, the Baroda-born has contributed massively with the bat to Mumbai Indians in the IPL and India in the three ODIs and will continue to play the T20I series as a pure batsman.

Michael Holding asserted that while Pandya is not bowling currently, he has been brilliant with the bat. Similarly, Jadeja has impressed the legendary pacer with his batting in recent times.

In his YouTube video, Michael Holding said, “Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are two capable all-rounders that can change the nature of a match with both bat and ball. Pandya at the moment doesn’t bowl, forget the ball, but we saw the bat. And Jadeja also with the bat, they had a very good partnership.”
