Former Australian and CSK middle-order batsman, Michael Hussey has heaped praise on his former CSK captain, MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has been one of the most successful captains in the history of the Indian Premier League as he has won 3 IPL trophies as a captain and played in 9 of the 12 finals so far. Dhoni is the most successful captain in the IPL in terms of the number of matches won throughout the tournament.

Michael Hussey believes that it is because of the calculative thinking that MSD does, helps him win games after games. Hussey also said that Dhoni is absolutely fit to play international cricket. But addressing his retirement possibilities, Hussey added that only Dhoni knows his plans.

Michael Hussey Lauds MS Dhoni’s Calculated Thinking

Speaking on an Instagram Live video on CSK’s official handle, Hussey said, “Of course he is still fit to play international cricket. But Dhoni is the best person to answer what is in his mind. MS is always very calculative. I would want to finish the match as early as possible but MS would say no because there is this bowler who is coming up to bowl or someone else that we need to see out.”

“Don’t think I’ve met anyone like MS in that respect. Yes he has got a calculating brain but he has also got that unbelievable power. He knows when he wants to hit a six he can, which is something I didn’t have,” Hussey added.

Former Cricketers Divided On Dhoni’s Return To Team India

Recently, Chennai Super Kings star batsman Suresh Raina said MS Dhoni did not show any signs of ageing and that he was hitting the big sixes at will, as usual during the training camp in Chennai. Laxmipathy Balaji, the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings, also vouched for MS Dhoni’s return.

On the other hand, former wicketkeeper-batsman, Deep Dasgupta had said that MS Dhoni should have kept playing domestic cricket if he aspired a return to the Indian team. Kris Srikkanth also noted that if the IPL does not take place, Dhoni’s return looks impossible. Gautam Gambhir also had similar views to those of Srikkanth.
