It is fair to say that Indian captain Virat Kohli is the biggest superstar in world cricket today. Kohl’s penchant for runs, consistent runs, his ability to churn out hundreds at will, and his feisty on-field demeanor continues to inspire the next generation.

Michael Vaughan, the former England skipper, recently highlighted Virat Kohli’s influence on kids, when he revealed that his little boy always asks him to wake him up whenever the charismatic Indian batsman strolls out to the crease.

”My little boy is a little player and all he does is, always says to me, when Virat comes out to bat, just wake me up. As soon as Virat goes out getting caught at midwicket, he goes back inside to do something else. He’s that powerful with the kids. When you see shots like that fly off the middle of the bat without any real effort or doesn’t seem like any much effort going into the stroke – it’s just flying into the stands. He’s a special player, he’s an absolute genius,” Michael Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

‘Once he gets one, probably he would get 3-or-4 together’- Michael on Virat Kohli’s lack of 100s in 2020

Virat Kohli has endured a rare lean patch this season. Kohli signaled a comeback to form with a brilliant 89 in the last ODI at the SCG but the wait for his elusive ton in 2020 still continues.

Commenting on the same, Michael Vaughan said that once Virat breaks the rut, he will get 3-4 hundreds in a stretch.

He also added that he doesn’t see India winning a Test match in Australia in the absence of Virat Kohli. Kohli will miss the last three Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he’ll head back home following the culmination of the pink-ball Test at the Adelaide Oval in order to be with his pregnant wife, Anushka Sharma.

“The one thing I don’t worry about with Virat Kohli is his batting. There is no concern about his batting whatsoever. He is a wonderful player, he’s the best of the era across the formats, there are no doubts about that,” Vaughan said.

I worry about those three Tests that India have without him. I don’t see India being able to win those Tests without the Virat Kohli factor. He is that important for that Test team. His 100s will come. Once he gets one, probably he would get 3-or-4 together, he’s that good,” he added.
